Stratus Guides - SFTP

For security purposes, Webscale STRATUS does not allow regular File Transfer Protocol (FTP) access. Secure FTP (SFTP) access is provided.

Secure FTP (SFTP) access is provided by automatically by using the same [hostname](/docs/reference/stratus/control-panels/ssh-panel/info/ “Find your hostname and port number”/), [port](/docs/reference/stratus/control-panels/ssh-panel/info/ “Find your hostname and port number”/), [user](/docs/reference/stratus/control-panels/ssh-panel/users/ “Create and manage users”/), and [whitelist](/docs/reference/stratus/storage/whitelist/ “Create and manage allowed IPs”/) information for accessing via SSH.

When accessing the Webscale STRATUS environment, SFTP may need to be specifically chosen as the “protocol” in the FTP access software.
